In the face of countless hate crimes, the LGBTQ community is notably resilient. Floats and parade attendees along the route displayed signs of support for those in Orlando.ĭespite the tragedy in Florida, attendees lined the streets in large numbers and parade participants smiled and cheered. Unfortunately for an event that has celebrated times of great joy (most notably 2014’s gay marriage ruling), Sunday’s parade came not long after the deadliest mass shooting in United States history took place at a gay nightclub. The 12th annual Milwaukee Pride Parade filled the streets of Walker’s Point with rainbow-colored revelers Sunday afternoon.
